Go back to WordPress’s own admin

Plinth changes how the admin looks, not how WordPress works, so going back is quick: for one screen, for a few, or for good.

Deactivating keeps your settings. Deleting removes them.

One screen at a time

For the Media library, Site Health, Updates and the Tools screens, add ?plinth-core=1 to the address to see WordPress’s own screen. That works for upload.php, site-health.php, update-core.php, tools.php, import.php, export.php, export-personal-data.php and erase-personal-data.php.

Switch parts off

  • Screens in Settings → Plinth switches off the dashboard overview and the plugin notice tray.
  • Sign-in › Design brings back WordPress’s own sign-in page.
  • Menu & toolbar › Toolbar on the site brings back WordPress’s black toolbar.

Deactivate

Deactivate Plinth on the Plugins screen and the admin is stock WordPress again, straight away. Your settings stay, so turning it back on picks up where you left off. If you moved the login address, sign-in goes back to wp-login.php.

Delete

Delete Plinth on the Plugins screen and its clean-up step removes what it stored: its settings, its page-view counts, and what it saved on posts and for each person.
